2º ESO A: Crónica Halloween

Halloween Newsletter: Back to the Future 1974

Dear families of CBA,

We would like to inform everyone that this Halloween has been a very special day, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the school, with the theme 1974 Back to the Future. The students decorated the windows according to the theme and came to school on their spine-chilling costumes to spook up the mood.

We celebrate Halloween at the British School of Aragón due to the role this festivity plays in both British and American cultures. We have been celebrating Halloween at our school for over 30 years! In fact, this year’s Halloween was themed on the 50th anniversary of our school, which dates back to the year 1974.

To commemorate this important milestone, we had a wide variety of activities in the morning including a fancy dress parade and activities based on the senses for Infant School, a parade through the playground, administration building and infant school for 1EP – 3EP and games and activities prepared by 3ESO and 4ESO for 4EP – 6EP.

In English Language class, the Primary students did different writing competitions, such as drawing Halloween pictures in 1EP and 2EP, comics in 3EP and 4EP and long texts with a picture in 5EP and 6EP. In Secondary, the 1ESO and 2ESO students made some menacing balloon models and a petrifying cooking workshop. In addition, the 3ESO and 4ESO students prepared activities for the Primary students, including the spooky Haunted House.

During the afternoon, all of Primary and Secondary did a costume parade and dance exhibition with their horrified families watching them. The activities also included a Wicked Carved Pumpkin competition, where the students gained points for their school houses in three categories: the scariest, funniest and most original! Moreover, the Secondary students and their families were able to enjoy an optional nighttime Zombie Apocalypse from 8-11 p.m. on the night before Halloween.

Our school is very proud of reaching this incredible milestone and we hope everyone had a very happy Halloween!
